Super rich people are frequently unhappy because the mindset that it takes to go from rich to super rich often requires your priorities to be distorted.
You have to be hyper in tune with people trying to screw you over - and there will be many. You have many scars from people in your past who have screwed you over, and there are many of them as well.
You don’t have to be religious to understand why Jesus said that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
If you can imagine that Heaven and Hell are not places you go after you die, but rather are places you go on earth based on your mindset, you understand why chasing material wealth after you reach 8 figures can put your soul in a compromised position.
This is not to say that all rich people are miserable - that would be a cope. But in my experience, very rich people are only mildly happier on average than slightly rich people, and it’s because they haven’t learned how to play their cards correctly to optimize their mindset to take advantage of the gift they’ve been given.
If you have an 8 figure net worth, you’ve been given the gift of time. You can do with yours what you wish. However if you squander this gift in pursuit of more money, you are making a fool’s folly. For you are trading something scarce (time) for something you already have in abundance.
