You lack discipline because you lack a clear goal.
This week I spoke to a number of individuals who face challenges staying consistent with their diet, training and side hustle efforts.
When I dig deeper, their goals *always* revolve around what they 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 want:
-They don't want to be a corporate drone
-They don't want to be fat
And they wonder why they drink more than they should, snack when they shouldn't, and quit their side hustles at the exploration phase.
The main issue is they lack North Stars. A North Star gives you something to chase, but more importantly, it gives you a reason to NOT succumb to easy dopamine.
If your goal is to *not* be fat, then you can justify having that late night snack or drink after work. After all, you can be *not fat* and still include those in your weekly habits. However, you can't do it liberally, and that's exactly what will happen when your goal is to *not* be something.
When you have a positive goal, a real North Star, your other actions will align with the chase. You will not have that extra glass of wine with dinner because you want to have a better training session the next morning. You will overcome the discomfort of rejection when starting your business when you have a *goal*
So if this sounds like you, you need to find your North Star if you want any hope of overcoming the hurdles inherent to its chase. If you want to work on finding that North Star, message me for tips.
