Stopping the Vicious Cycle
Nearly all of your problems derive from the way you problem solve. Whether you cope with booze, drugs, food, or mood swings, you find yourself repeating the same destructive patterns specifically to solve problems in the short run.
You do this while you know they will cause problems in the long run. But why do you do this? Because you're in PAIN. The body doesn't plan well around pain management. We will do anything to immediately alleviate the pain because we see it as an existential threat.
The key to stopping this vicious cycle is identifying the problem at its root and 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒑𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒕. This is hard 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏.
Because any lifestyle change or change in your approach won't yield immediate results, you have to TRUST that the process will get you there. All while you may be inclined to DISTRUST the process because of your prior experience getting burned by it.
Because pain and discomfort are inevitable, finding a good coach or counselor to guide you through the process is priceless.
